Description

Nice vintage Musicman Stingray 2 EQ four String Bass Guitar from 1989. Bass is in good condition with nice straight. The frets show some minor marking and no issues there. There are chips, nicks and dings to the body you can see in the pictures.

The neck date is 1989 as is the date stamped on the body.  There is a date on the electronics of 19 Dec 1988.  This is the model that Ernie Ball produced for a few years after buying the Musicman business in 1984. They have the gloss finish to the rear of the neck, 4 bolt neck plate and large bridge plate with adjustable mutes. A few years later they switched to a satin finish to the neck and 6 bolt neck plate and retained the large bridge plate. Then towards the end of the 90's they started using smaller bridge plates. Some players favour the gloss finish and larger bridge plates making these basses quite collectible. Ernie Ball Stingrays have been pretty constant in my experience and I have found the average weight for EB Stingrays is around 9 1/2lbs. You can get them lighter but they are generally in that range. This one comes at 9lb 7oz on my scales.

The bass plays and sounds great with a medium action. The bass ships in a non-original hard case.
